Bern Sundell, a lifelong fly fisherman, first found his passion for fishing on the Smith River after his family moved to White Sulphur Springs, Montana when he was nine. Bern originally was born in Ennis and since his return has become a familiar sight on the Madison and other great fishing waters of the area. 

He is an accomplished artist in a surprising range of media and his deep love of fish, rivers, and rocks clearly shows in his paintings. His sensitivity to the nuances of light make his paintings a constant source of joy on a daily basis for those fortunate enough to have them in the home or office.

He paints in oils, acrylics, and watercolors with great skill and beauty, as can be seen in the limited edition fine art book Bern Sundell: Artist/Fly Fisherman.
