Dewglow by Lexi Sundell

Dewglow shows a backlit poppy floating in dawn light. Fresh dew drops grace the translucent petals and one can see little shadows of stamens near the center of the flower.

Lexi sometimes chooses watercolor paper for the way it takes the acrylic paints. This particular subject benefited from the choice, as can be seen more clearly in the detail below the painting.

She coated the painting with an acrylic varnish so it is framed without glass.
